Angel in the Sky

Read Time:1 Minute, 23 Second

I remember the warm-soothing hugs,
red-colored coffee mugs.
All the before-bed storytimes,
and old-school nursery rhymes.
I remember how I tried, to follow your style,
I lived on your smile.
since you were,
my angel in the sky,
the bird that taught me how to fly.

there was only one door,
to the imagination inside of me,
and you were the key.
you ignited the soul inside of me,
helped me conquer the land and the sea.
you were the heart that grew on me,
the inspiration, to fulfill my destiny.
Since you were
an angel in the sky,
the bird, that taught me how to fly.

My universe has since faded;
the light just died.
The soul is devastated,
the skies have cried.
MY stars are struck by spears,
and the clouds’ above, shed their tears.
the day is getting darker,
and life is getting harder.
the flowers have begun to wilt,
and taken with it,
everything we built.
the sunsets to die,
and removes,
the angel from my sky,
the bird, that taught me how to fly.

yet even after you’re gone,
the days will go on.
the birds will keep chirping,
the waves will keep surfing.
the sun starts shining,
and the clouds stop crying.
and then, then I know,
that kings, kings will come and go,
but we will always be together.
you will rule my heart forever.
for what you left with me,
will be a part of your legacy.
what you taught me,
will make my destiny.
for you are, and always will be:
my angel in the sky,
the bird that taught me how to fly.
